Frequently asked questions

Does converting to MP3 lose quality?
MP3 discards sounds the ear barely notices, so some information is lost. At 320 kbps it's very hard to tell apart; 192 kbps is fine for everyday listening. Keep the original WAV if you plan to edit again.
Which bitrate should I choose?
192–256 kbps for music, 320 kbps for the best quality, and 128 kbps with mono for voice or lectures to cut the size a lot.
Which formats can I convert?
Most formats your browser can play — FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG — including iPhone voice memos. Support varies slightly by browser.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Conversion happens inside this browser, so unreleased tracks and private recordings stay on your device.
